NEW VIDEO: Lisa Maffia ft Tyler Daley and Romeo - Don't Stop The Music

As soon as I heard this track I knew I had to put it up on my blog. It was the opening line from Lisa Maffia 'please don't stop the muuusssiiccc' over the distorted melody that caught my attention and from there I was hooked.  'Dont Stop the Music' is a blend of old school garage and modern day urban party vibes.  This is easily a track that I can see being played in clubs thanks to the recognisable voices of Romeo and Tyler Daley who feature on the track.  This track makes me fall for Tyler Daley's talent that little bit more and who can compete with Romeo's instantly recognisable smooth tone, like butter wouldn't melt, it's so cool. The video's not bad either and complement's the track rather nicely with what looks like some real effort has been put in.  We even see a sneaky appearance from Ashley Walter's (Asher D).

UrbanVoice UK Opinion:  Yeah, this is not a bad comeback effort from both Romeo and Lisa Maffia. The track is not too serious and to put it simply, it's just a feel good tune, really.  Something that I would dance to in the clubs and would most likely get others up off the wall too.  I will definitely play this out loud while I am getting really to go out this weekend.

UrbanVoice UK Score:  3.75/5

NEW VIDEO: DDARK - TWITTER

Giving his opinion on the social media craze that is Twitter DDark delivers a comical and addictive track aptly named 'Twitter'.  This video will certainly bring a smile to your face and you will even spot a few familiar faces featuring in the video such as Lucien and Kele Le Roc.  In my opinion there's a little bit of genius here as this is a clever spin on the use, politics and popularity of twitter and I'm sure if you tweet yourself you will relate to a few lyrics in this DDark track. So go on then, what are you waiting for follow man on twitter!!!!! @ddarkonline

For more information on DDark find him on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ddarkartist
I don't even need to bother with the link for DDark's twitter page because if you have watched the video you will have memorised it by now!

NEW VIDEO: Showa Sho - Part Of The Plan

Yep, certain songs go down quite well on a spring afternoon like today and this next video is no exception. It's tunes like this, Showa Sho 'Part of the Plan', that makes me regret selling my car because right now if I had a car I would be blaring this out of my speakers.  Here is the offical video for Showa Sho's latest track 'Part of the Plan'. Despite looking so young in the video Showa Sho is mature in his lyrical approach and my favourite line is 'hardwork pays off, so try excel'. Real Talk! Don't forget to hit that 'like' button below if you're feeling it. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: No Lay - Drugs

This next video 'Drugs' from No Lay has been popular in the past week and just like the track's title it is a little addictive.  No Lay, one of the most established female MC's in the UK, is going in haaarrrdd on the bass heavy 'Drugs'. With  the instantly recognisable Ms Dynamite sampled and production from AD No Lay compares her flow to Class A Drugs and rightly so because I have had this tune on replay for the past week.  Time to go Cold Turkey?!... This Video comes with a warning - HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: Major Lazer - Original Don

After creating a beat so crazy and fresh that a mega superstar like Beyonce samples it in the first track of her fourth album - it's hard to think that the duo that is Major Lazer would be able to do one better. Proving that they are not just a one hit wonder, Major Lazer are back with the just as crazy stupid (in a good way) 'Original Don'.

With so many remixes of this track out at the moment it's hard for me to pick out my favourite remix to present to you and so, I have stuck to the safe option, the commercial edit with video included. I just love this video - it's so random with it's black humour. Look out for my favourite character in the video, the granny - ahhh bless her :).

Here is he video for 'Original Don' by Major Lazer. I predict that this is another guaranteed club banger and no doubt will hits the charts soon too.

REVIEW: DaVinChe - Breakdown

Ahhh thank you!! Is it me or do you feel like established British artists are developing a little American twang lately? Almost like they need to do so in order to sell records? So its nice to see that when an established artist, like record producer and songwriter DaVinChe, comes back on the scene with a new banger and it's most definitely British.

DaVinChe is back with a track entitled 'Breakdown' and it has DaVinChe written all over it, with his signature strings introducing the track and repetitive grimey beat, I can hear MC's lining up round the block to spit over the track.  The 'Breakdown' instrumental is accompanied by a video that reflects the title of the song as DaVinChe ends up on the roof of a building culminating in a 'Breakdown'.

UrbanVoice UK's opinion: DaVinChe hits the spot delivering a track that if you are already a fan, you won't be disappointed. It's refreshing to have DaVinChe back with a new song that is still true to its roots. The videos not bad either.

UrbanVoice UK score: 4/5

NEW VIDEO: Bashy feat Giggs - Backhand P.R.I.C.K.S [THE UNDERDOGS ANTHEM]

Bashy returns with an absolute STONKER!! "Backhand Pricks" Taken from his forthcoming EP The Great Escape the Rapper/Actor Bashy has collaborated with another Great British Titan in the form of none other than South London's very own GIGGS!!

The track 'Backhand Pricks' explores the feeling of the underdog, giving a mammoth BACKHAND to any negative energy that surrounds one in life!

UrbanVoice UK opinion:

If I'm honest, my opinion changed after a few plays of this track.  After a few plays I have decided that I definitely like the beat on this track and Bashy's lyrics have meaning and are delivered with determination to remind you that he's well established in this game and is not going anywhere anytime soon.  One of reasons why I like Bashy on this track is that he is still keeping it British and relatable to the British audience (Brits love nothing more than an underdog).  My favourite thing about the track is the video and the collage of images and street art style clips, it brings something a little different, fresh and is enjoyable to watch.  Slightly dissapointed that Giggs did  not spit a verse, but hey, overall 'Backhand P.R.I.C.K.S' still a good track.  Check it out for yourself below...

Score: 3.5/5 (4/5 if you include the video :) )

OFFICIAL VIDEO: HOOD G - GLISTENING

Even though it was release earlier this year UrbanVoice UK is loving the beat on this track 'Glistening' by London born and raised group Hood G. The track deserves some time to glisten on this blog as I seem to have it on rewind at the moment. There is something familiar about this track taking me back to about 2003 - 05 with its US Hip-Hop style slow beat and repetitive sped up 'glistening' alongside the soft vocals of group member Alisha.  Check out the official video for HOOD G and their track Glistening here on UrbanVoice UK.

NEW VIDEO: Kano, Fatman Scoop and Busy Signal

I am very excited about this next video that I am posting up on UrbanVoice UK.  One of my favourite artists Kano has teamed up with Fatman Scoop and Busy Signal to produce a heavyweight bashment style track and Kano definitely goes in hard showing that he has not lost his ability to flow well on a track.  Kano is no stranger to collaborations with bashment artists having already worked with Aidonia and Vybz Kartel.  This track 'Wine de Best' is already sending the clubs crazy and I guess as the lyrics suggest girls in the club will want to show off who can 'wine de best'.
Will this collaboration with Fatman Scoop give Kano some well deserved recognition in the US? I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

I hope you like this track as much as I do.  Here is the official video for 'Wine de Best' featuring Kano, Fatman Scoop and Busy Signal.

Konan & Krept - Otis

A You Tube sensational over night with over 2 millions views here is the hilarious video remake of Jay Z and Kanye West's 'Otis'.  This could give Rebecca Black's 'Friday' a run for its money - I'll let the video do the talking.

NEW VIDEO: MAGNETIC MAN FEATURING P MONEY - ANTHEMIC

I Need Air's Magnetic Man are back and this time the trio have collaborated with London grime mc P Money.  Magnetic Man is an electronic music project consisting of dubstep producers and DJs, Benga, Skream and Artwork.  This is one of my favourite tracks at the moment so I have also added it to the UVUK Playlist.  I have no doubt that this track will be of of the biggest dubstep and grime collaborations this year.  Here is the video for the track Anthemic.

You can buy Anthemic on iTunes now.

NEW VIDEO: Ms Dynamite - Neva Soft

As promised, here is the official video for Ms Dynamite's Neva Soft collaboration with Labrinth.  It looks like Ms Dynamite will be hitting the charts again with this one and I know that she has many fans who are excited to see her back in action.  Neva Soft will be out on 5th September.

NEW VIDEO: HARVEY & MISTA BROWN FEATURING GYPTIAN - HOT GYAL

Well, here's an interesting hook up - Harvey & Mista Brown featuring Gyptian.  Even though he's not a UK based artist I love Gyptian as an artist and especially the more recent tracks that he has released over the last 12 months.  We also haven't heard from Harvey, former So Solid Crew member in a while.  This collaboration is hot right now and I feel like I need to hit Cyprus to hear this out loud in an open air club overlooking the Mediterranean sea.  Anyway, (sigh) back to reality, this is a good summer banger with a hot video filmed in Jamaica to match.  Check out the video for Hot Gyal here on UrbanVoice UK.

NEW VIDEO: Roll Deep - Swagger

UrbanVoice UK has always been a fan of Roll Deep supporting them from back in the day to their now mainstream success.  'Roll Deep are here' with a new video and tune entitled Swagger.  With a bouncy drum beat and flows from Roll Deep members Brazen, Flo Dan, J2K and Manga, the first time I heard Swagger I was a bit disappointed as I thought Roll Deep would have come with something a bit grimier given their recent chart success.  However, after the first 10 plays I have now decided that this one will definitely be going on my UVUK Playlist.  All of the Roll Deep members appear in the video and I actually like this video, even if it does contain the standard formula of women and cars.

Check out the new video from Roll Deep with Swagger!
